Derek Durbin, DDS

Derek Durbin earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Gerontology from Kansas State University. He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry. At that time, he moved back to his hometown of Topeka in 2004 to join his dad Bob Durbin in practice. Along with the full scope practice of general dentistry, Dr. Durbin also maintains an advanced sedation license in order to meet the needs of the anxious patient.

Always desiring to improve, Dr. Durbin is a member of the Heartland Dental Study Club where he receives education in many advanced areas of dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, which enables him to receive some of the top training in dental sedation. Dr. Durbin also enjoys the pursuit of continuing education in the areas of root canal therapy and aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Durbin and his wife, Jenny, have four children. They greatly enjoy outdoor activities like sports, hiking, fishing, or just playing with their children and pets. Some of Dr. Durbin’s hobbies are reading, working out, and spending time with family and friends. Last, and what Dr. Durbin would consider the foundation of who he is, is his involvement in his local church and global mission work.
